Court's last fling before the ring..

Here comes the bride..

I had a wonderful time going out with friends celebrating Courtney's upcoming wedding bells. Courtney and I met in our freshman year of college but officially became great friends our sophomore year. Court was my walking partner all throughout our 4 years at U of A. Now days we both live in central Arkansas just on opposite sides or Little Rock. The 45 minute drive is not optimal for daily walks/ visits. Sad for us. But we do try to have dinner monthly to keep up and exchange life stories (the good, bad, and ugly). I am overjoyed that Courtney has found her special someone. Cheers to happily ever after!

Junkpot

Erica and I got up early to fulfill a mission. We headed out to find more junk.  Everyone needs more junk, right?  We are officially setting up our be. booth on Monday night. We are in panic/ excitement mode.  Off we went, to Hot Springs for a church rummage sale.  We hit the JUNKPOT!!! Can't wait to show off some of our treasures.

Erica's car filled up fast. The deal of the day: A great wood highchair.(not pictured) I cant' wait to get my hands on it and fix it up. I had to call my sweet in laws to come pick of the highchair because we ran out of room. Always a good sign for a junkpot!!
I am like a kid at Christmas. I always come home and lay all my loot out and marvel over my treasures. I make a mental game plan for each piece before I clean, re-purpose, or use/ display them around my house.

Happy Saturday!!

I'll fly away..

I have always loved the hymn "I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away". So when I saw this print on pintrest I thought uumm.. "I could make my own version of that". When I couldn't sleep this evening I got out my supplies and got busy.

I already had this canvas from an earlier project that went wrong. Most of projects take a couple of attempts before I like them or think of them as praise worthy.
Here is the finished project. I free handed the outline of the bird. The hardest part of the project happened to be the cursive lettering. I mostly print these days so I had to jog my memory on how to make a capital "I" and "F" in cursive.  Side note: Did you know that they are no longer teaching cursive writing in public school? It's a dying art due to technology. Kinda sad if you think about it.

'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away
To a land on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away

When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Oh how glad and happy when we meet, I'll fly away
No more cold iron shackles on my feet, I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away
To a land where joy will never end, I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory, I'll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away

Thank Goodness It's Friday

Sometimes the weeks are so busy and full that it is easy to wish them a way. Lately I feel like I have been wishing my days away and living for the weekend. Please don't get me wrong, I love the weekends. My point is that I should try to enjoy the week days and not let them fly by without intention. I want to live life not let life live me. Goal for today: be present, be mindful, and recognize and enjoy all small and big treasures life has to offer.

Cheers to a great Friday!! Hope you guys have a super weekend. You better bet I will be dancing this weekend at Court's bachelorette party!!

Sibling Shout Out..

At my wedding. Bryce walked me down the isle with Dan
Family pic. I think we are 5 and 8.
Last year Bryce giving me a bear hug
So 1 day late never killed anyone. Right? According to Facebook yesterday was National Sibling Day. I would like to send a shout out to my younger brother Bryce. We are pretty close even though we live states apart. I am 3 years older than Bryce so of course I know more than him and have always liked to be the boss (like any good big sister). Bryce has a saying when I get bossy "Its not Brandiland. Its called Trittville" Meaning that we both need to agree on whatever we are debating or fighting over.  Not to brag too much on him but he is a really smart kid.  Love you Bryce!!

June Dog

It is time to introduce you guys to my sweet overly large puppy. June was my 26th birthday present. I had been asking for a puppy for sometime and Mister R finally caved in. Yay!! He surprised me with a random trip to a farm and there she was... just looking precious.Of course we had to take her home with us.

She has been a great addition to our family. She definitely keeps us entertained and on our toes. She is super sassy but oh so sweet!! Look at the face..

Gun Ranger

Today was absolutely beautiful with great weather. Mister R invited me to go shoot guns with him today. Not my first choice of a fun activity. But it's always good to spend some quality time with the hubs. Here are some pic from our afternoon.

I am working on my weak photog skills. Bare with me. ;)

So I shot a few times. Shooting is not my strong point. Practice makes perfect, right?  To tell you the truth this is what I really did most of the time.

Hope you guys had a great restful weekend.  Monday is just around the corner. Happy Funday Sunday!

be.ing Adventurous..

So my sweet friend Erica and I are starting a new adventure. We are going to start a flea market booth. We are really excited but a little intimidated about the whole process. I will keep you guys updated by posting pictures of big special pieces. We are calling our shop "be." We loved the idea of using out initials for our name. We are also writing inspirational catch phrases on the tags. For example "be. green", "be. positive", "be. happy". Okay you guys get the idea!! We are hoping to be opening the booth at the beginning of October, which is just around the corner. Eeeek!
